Nestled in the Colorado Rockies, Steamboat is one of North America's largest ski mountains. This gem isn't just famous for its skiing and snowboarding, it's also known for its family-friendly activities and programs. At Steamboat, you can go snowmobiling, horseback riding, sleigh riding and tubing, or even take some time to get a massage.
Steamboat also provides ski and snowboarding clinics with their own age group at the appropriate skill level, giving newbie adults a chance to learn from the best.
2. Telluride, Colorado
Everything in Telluride is within walking distance, making it a perfect family vacation destination. The majority of lodging is connected to the Mountain Village by a free gondola that brings you directly to the slopes and the Mountain Village Activity Center.
The Mountain Village Activity Center has rental equipment and the Children's Center with a nursery for infants 2-11 months and toddlers 12 months-3 years. Mountain Village offers plenty of kid's clinics, as well as adult ski, snowboard and snowbiking lessons to keep everyone happy.
3. Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a kid-friendly paradise thanks to its impressive Kids Ranch. Their all-inclusive children's facility with daycare and age-specific activities for kids ages 6 months-17 years old will keep the little ones occupied skiing, snow boarding or doing other fun outdoor programs. That gives you plenty of time to hit the slopes with the grown-ups.
4. Beaver Creek, Colorado
When it comes to taking a ski vacation with the entire family, Beaver Creek is among the best. Younger children can have their very own vacation in their kids program. It’s designed for little ones ages 2 months to 6 years old, in child care centers that suit their age and stage. Their ski and snowboard school is rumored to be among the best in the country, designed to serve anyone from age 3 - 93. To top it all off, Beaver Creek serves warm chocolate chip cookies at 3 pm. EVERY SINGLE DAY! Yum.
