Objective
We are looking for a highly motivated software developer who will work on our Development Team. The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, has a strong work ethic, and loves to innovate, with a technical background in web applications. This role will be building on our burgeoning web services to create and maintain frontend applications and backend services.
Company Description
High Point Travel is an industry leading, ministry-minded travel resource for churches, missions agencies, Christian schools and para-church organizations. Our goal is to help ministries and churches with logistical aspects of trip planning, save them time and money in the process, and allow them to spend more time making Christ famous.
High Point Travel is a growing company with a great family atmosphere. In 2026 we will send over 60,000 people on international missions, and many more on charter buses. We are not just filling a functional job description, but are looking for an applicant who will become a key member of our team.
Duties
The focus of this position is to be involved in all aspects of developing our web applications: including user interface design and development, backend API services, and database integration. The developer works in conjunction with our team to develop our in-house software and our client-facing applications, to enable our staff to work more efficiently and to engage with our clients more effectively. As a software developer in a growing company, you will be able to see the direct impact of the work you do and how it benefits others. As you grow in this role you will be managing a variety of tasks throughout the application structure.
In this role you will:
Work with team members and leadership to pursue development priorities
Take ownership of a project to design, test, document, and implement new functionality
Update, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing React, Node.js, and FileMaker applications
Thrive across the stack. Over the course of a day, you may build a new API endpoint and then build the user interface that consumes that API
Share knowledge across the stack to ensure the team grows their skills together
Character Qualifications
High integrity
Strong work ethic
A heart to serve others
Desire to learn and grow with our company
Ability to work within our team
Willingness to take initiative
