Uruguay is not fully open, but they are allowing some travelers in. Those that meet the following exceptions will be allowed into the country:
Family reunification between parents, spouses, domestic partners, minor or elderly single children with disabilities.
International transport drivers.
Accredited diplomats.
Aircraft pilots.
Ship pilots.
Transitory income will be authorized for humanitarian reasons or for labor, economic, business or judicial purposes, managed before the National Directorate of Migration by the competent Ministry corresponding to the area of activity involved and based on reasons of urgent need.
If the activity is tourist, they should send a note explaining the reasons for the urgent need for the trip to the Ministry of Tourism to the following email: admdocumental@mintur.gub.uy , in other cases you should follow the recommendations that the other agencies involved determine.
If you do find that you meat an above requirement you will also need to meet the following criteria:
1) Deliver a certificate of negative coronavirus test by molecular biology technique by RT-PCR, carried out up to 72 hours before the start of the trip in a laboratory in the country of origin or in transit from the country they come from. 2) Complete an affidavit stating the absence of symptoms and contact with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases in the 14 days prior to admission. 3) In case of staying more than 7 days , a mandatory preventive social isolation will be added during the first 7 days, and a new test must be performedRT-PCR on the 7th day of stay in the national territory or extend the mandatory preventive social isolation for 7 more days, thus reaching 14 days in total. In addition to providing a quick way of contact with whoever enters to do the traceability. 4) Assistance insurance with specific coverage for COVID-19. 5) It is encouraged to avoid the use of collective public transport . 6) Download the Coronavirus Oops application and activate bluetooth to follow up if a case of COVID-19 occurs.
